Facts about Cairo, the Capital of Egypt :

Cairo Facts

Egypt is one of those countries that you should visit at least once in your life because of its spectacular history and all the mystery that surrounds its ancient civilizations

Cairo, which in Arabic means “the victorious one” or the “the strong” is the capital of Egypt. It is the largest city in the Arab world and in Africa. To the southwest is the city of Giza and the ancient necropolis of Memphis, with the Giza plateau and its monumental pyramids,
Cairo is one of the most populous in the world; it is no coincidence, therefore, that the Egyptians themselves recognize it as the mother of all cities.

The current name is due to the Fatimids, who named the city Al-Qahira. The city was founded in 116 B.C., in what is now known as Old Cairo, when the Romans rebuilt an ancient Persian fortress along the Nile River. Before its foundation, Memphis or other cities were the capital of the Pharaonic Empire.

There are also ancient temples, tombs, beautiful Christian churches, beautiful Muslim monuments and of course the Egyptian Antiques Museum, all in or near the city.
Cairo is the heart of Egypt, with its 1 million square kilometers of land, is in the top 30 of the largest countries, it is a country known for its geographical ‘distribution’. 99% of the Egyptian population uses only 5% of the total land area, but almost 100% of the aquatic resources due to the predominantly bare ecosystem.
The lifeline of some 90 million people, the River Nile is the center of urban planning, an incredible 6,695 km gift of food for Egypt and three other countries, making it the longest, and perhaps the most vital river in the world.

As long as you are ready to relax your senses and get lost in this majestic city, you can discover the sweetness of Cairo, the conviviality of small cafes and the pleasure of strolling through narrow streets. It would be impossible to describe Cairo adequately; it is truly unique.
